ABOUT COACH HALL
With thirty-two years in the classroom, Jeff has focused his career on helping the next generation of artists start their artistic journey. Currently, he is the department chair and lead visual art teacher at Maggie L. Walker Governor's School which was recently ranked as the #5 public high school in the nation.
Prior to that, Jeff was the founding visual arts teacher at the Henrico Center for the Arts, Henrico County's first speciality center.
He received the Henrico County Teacher of the Year in 2000, R.E.B. Award in Teaching Excellence in 2010, the Pat Taylor Teaching Award in 2013, & is an Apple Distinguished Educator.
Artistically, Jeff is a painter and multidisciplinary artist. He completed a Golden Artist Educator Residency in 2015 and recently completed a Studio-access Residency at the Visual Arts Center in Richmond. He is a three-time finalist for the Bethesda Painting prize (2023, 2025, 2026). He exhibits his paintings locally and nationally and had his work featured in New American Paintings issues #100 and #160.
